CFAH schedule changes due to COVID-19

Dear Cypress Falls Animal Hospital Family,

As the City of Houston has issued a Stay Home, Work Safe order and because we are classified as an essential business, we are making adjustments so that we can continue to provide exceptional care for your furry family members while maintaining a safe environment for our clients and staff.  Please note the following temporary changes to appointment flow at your favorite vet's office:

Annual exams, vaccinations, and routine bloodwork

To encourage social distancing, we are asking that you postpone these non-urgent services if you are able to do so.  In the event that your pet is due for a booster vaccination (puppies, kittens, new pets, etc.) or essential lab work (often done as a brief ‘tech’ appointment) we ask that you take advantage of our curbside service as listed below.  Alternatively, we will be accepting drop offs for these and other necessary but non-critical services.

Medically urgent care

We will continue to see sick pets for problems such as gi upset, skin and ear infections, urinary tract infections, etc.; however, per CDC guidelines for medical offices we ask that families designate one (1) person to attend the appointment to minimize the number of people in our lobbies and rooms.

Medications/Prescription diets

We are recommending a minimum of a 1 month supply of any chronic medications and prescription diets for your pet.  These items may be obtained directly from Cypress Falls Animal Hospital or through our online pharmacy: Vet's First Choice.  We would greatly appreciate 24 hours notice for all refill requests, as we have a limited staff to accommodate the large influx of requests.

Curbside service

If you are an at-risk client we are happy to accommodate you with curbside service, to include prescription pickup and appointments.  PLEASE CALL upon your arrival and we will instruct you on how to proceed.  We are also encouraging curbside appointments for all brief visits as listed in the Annual Exams section above.

Please understand that our phone call volume has been exceedingly high, so we ask for your patience as hold times may be longer than normal.  If you have non-urgent questions, prescription requests, etc. you can also reach us via email at or Facebook Messenger.

Postponed services

At this time we will be postponing the following appointment types:

  • Grooming services, including, but not limited to baths, nail trims/dremmels, anal gland expressions, and ear cleanings.
  • Elective surgical procedures including, but not limited to spays, neuters, dentals, minor mass removals, etc.
  • Boarding reservations

Any exceptions to these postponements for medically urgent reasons will be addressed on a case by case basis. If you are uncertain if your pet's condition is medically urgent, do not hesitate to call.  PLEASE NOTE:  If your pet was previously scheduled for an appointment of this type, we plan to honor those appointments.

The measures listed in this email will be effective until the end of the Stay Home, Work Safe order as set by the City of Houston. If further measures are warranted, we will communicate this with you via email, Facebook, and our website.

We know that this is a stressful time and we are trying to accommodate your loved ones to the best of our ability, all the while maintaining a safe distance and protecting each other and you. Please be patient as we navigate these times with you and understand that these changes and postponements have been necessary to allow our staff to redirect their efforts in the areas of disinfection, curbside services, etc. while keeping with guidelines from the AVMA, CDC, state and local officials and others.

You are all lifted in our prayers as we BTHO of COVID-19!  Whoop!!!!
