  • Betty Halbrook, DVM

    Veterinarian/Medical Director

    Dr. Betty Halbrook is a 2002 graduate of Texas A&M University‚Äôs College of Veterinary Medicine. Her undergraduate degree is in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is originally from the Dallas area, and has worked in the Houston and Katy areas since graduation. Her interests includes cultivating close personal relationships with clients and pets, internal medicine, dermatology and radiology. 

    Her outside interests include cooking, gardening and fishing. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her three wonderful nieces in Tyler. She has many rescue fur-babies that she loves spoiling at home.

  • Liz Edwards, DVM


    Dr. Liz Edwards graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in May. She received her Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences, graduating Summa Cum Laude, in 2012 from the same university. Her interests include internal medicine, opthalmology and geriatric medicine. Dr. Edwards has lived most of her life in College Station, but she was born in Germany and loves to travel. In her spare time she enjoys reading, quilting and cooking.

    She and her husband currently have one human baby and one fur-baby.

  • Catherine

    Practice Manager

    Catherine is a native Houstonian and has known from a young age that she wanted to work with animals. She graduated from Texas A&M University in May of 2014 with a Bachelor's of Science in Biomedical Science and is currently pursuing a degree in business management.

    Catherine lives with her husband, Dylan, and their 5 pets: 3 dogs - Thunder, Bella, and Bowser; and 2 cats - Pebbles and Vader (our former clinic cat). In her spare time Catherine enjoys reading, crafting, playing disc golf, and video games. Dylan and Catherine also enjoy traveling and Catherine has a goal to see every Major League Baseball park in the country.
  • Cristina

    Office Manager

    Cristina graduated from Texas A&M at Galveston in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. She worked at SeaWorld San Antonio for 7 years as a camp counselor and animal care specialist. Cristina worked with all the marine mammals in the park, but mainly took care of the health and well being of the bottlenose dolphins, seals, sea lions and otters. When her husband's career took them to Houston she quickly realized that she wanted to continue to care for animals and joined the CFAH family in 2012. 

    Cristina has a son, born in August 2013, and 2 dogs that keep her very busy. She loves everything Disney and fundraising for Give Kids the World Village. Cristina and her family love to travel anywhere and everywhere, but mostly Disney.

  • Carol

    Veterinarian Assistant/Receptionist

    Carol started elementary school and graduated high school in Nederland, TX., with several years inbetween growing up in Eunice, LA. She attended Texas A&M and Lamar University, and then started her family. She lives with her husband, George, in Waller, and has an adult stepson, son, daughter, and 2 young grandchildren.

    Carol currently has one dog named Miles, chickens, and 3 cats. She has always had a passion for animals and has been working with them for the past 20+ years, with 15+ being in the veterinary field.

    In her spare time, Carol loves to read, do crossword puzzles, and just hang out with her family.

  • Karissa


    Karissa was born in College Station but grew up in 4 different countries. She moved to Houston in 2019. Karissa has been working with animals since she was 15 and is very passionate about animal rescue. 

    Karissa has 1 dog named Dozer and 3 house cats names Michael, Cleo and Aly, as well as a million and one outside cats.
  • Star


    Star was born in Lake Jackson, Texas and moved to Houston when she was 10. She studies biology at a local community college and is planning to go back to school to pursue her dreams in veterinary medicine. 

    Star has 3 dogs; Smokey, Mamas and Luna, and a cat named Bella. She enjoys spending time with her pets and boyfriend doing outdoor activities. She especially enjoys the beach. 
  • Tanya


    Tanya is originally from Kentucky and moved to Houston as a teenager. After graduating high school, she went into Printing and Marketing for 20+ years. Tanya then attended nursing school, but decided to use her love and compassion for animals in the veterinarian field. She has learned something new and enjoying every day.

    Tanya has four grandchildren that she adores. In her spare time she loves antique shopping and making something old have a new purpose. Her other interests include going to the gym, scrapbooking, reading, and weekend travel.

  • Angel

    Veterinarian Assistant

    Angel loves learning new things at Cypress Falls Animal Hospital everyday. She currently attends community college online for her Associate of Science degree and plans on transferring to a 4 year university to pursue a Bio Medical Science degree. 

    Angel enjoys hanging out with her best friends and having long conversations with her dog, Hamlet.
  • Juliann

    Veterinarian Assistant

    Juliann was born and raised in Houston. She is currently attending school for business and education at The University of Houston Downtown. Her love of veterinary medicine is growing every day and she plans to pursue her veterinary technician certification in the fall of 2024.

    Juliann has 3 cats, a lab named Paisley, and 2 pigs names Sassy and Pickles that she absolutely adores. She enjoys crafting and DIY home projects in her spare time. She also loves spending time with her family and friends.
  • Kat

    Veterinarian Assistant

    Born and raised in Houston, Kat grew up with a love for animals. She started her career in the animal industry in 2016 working at a doggy daycare. She then received her certification as a Veterinary Assistant, CVA. She has worked in emergency, surgery and with a mobile vet, but really loves being a surgery technician.

    Kat has 2 dogs: Baylee and Zoee and 3 cats: Muffee, Minnie and Nip. She is very excited for the baby girl she has on the way!
  • Kelcie

    Veterinarian Assistant

    Kelcie was born and raised in the Wilkes-Barre/Scraton area in Pennsylvania and moved to Houston in 2021. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice but decided to change careers. She is currently pursuing an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology. Then, Kelcie plans to become a LVT. She has a love for animals and expanding her knowledge in the veterinary medicine field.

    Kelcie has 2 dogs; a Bernese Mountain dog named Murff, and a Husky/Lab mix named Jameson. She also has 2 rescue cats name Savannah and Parsley. She enjoys weight lifting, softball and fishing.
  • Tessa

    Veterinarian Assistant

    Tessa was born in Amsterdam and moved to the U.S. when she was 9. She previously worked at CFAH from 2017-2019, but left to attend Paramedic school. She obtained an Associate's in Science from Lone Star College and currently works full-time as a Paramedic. Tessa decided to return to CFAH to work part time due to her continued love of veterinary medicine.

    In Tessa's spare time, she trains/competes in Olympic Weightlifting and is currently taking prerequisites to attend nursing school. She has one dog named Lefty, and two cats named Chandler and Ivy.
  • Zinnia

    Veterinarian Assistant

    Zinnia joined the CFAH team in February 2021. She has worked in the veterinary community since 2001 and feels very lucky to share her love of veterinary medicine. 

    When not at work, Zinnia enjoys music and concerts with her husband and daughter. She shares her home with many reptiles and a rescued german shepherd mix named R.E.
  • Amber

    Technician Assistant

    Amber is an avid cocker spaniel lover. She has lived in the Houston area her whole life and graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 2021. She plans to attend community college and pursue a degree in business management with a minor in psychology.

    Amber currently has one deaf puppy named Einstein. She spends most of her free time taking care of him, but she also enjoys cleaning and reading.
  • Gianna

    Technician Assistant

    Gianna is originally from New Jersey, but grew up in Houston. She currently attends Cypress Falls High School and has always had a love of helping animals. Gianna plans to pursue Veterinary Medicine in college and hopes to pursue a PhD in the future. 

    Gianna enjoys school cheer and tumbling. She also loves taking her dog Camo on adventures.
